Shirley Mae Barrington, age 71 of Sand Springs, passed from this life Monday, January 7, 2019, at her home.
A graveside service will be Friday, 2:00 p.m., January 11, 2019, at Woodland Memorial Park Cemetery in Sand Springs with Pastor Rusty Gunn officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs.
Shirley was born May 5, 1947, in Bentonville, Arkansas, to Delton Eugene and Virginia (Hutchenson) Cumpton. She attended school in Bentonville and married Larry Barrington on September 11, 1981, in Paris, Texas. The couple made their home in the Sand Springs area. Shirley worked for Wendy’s Restaurant for over twenty-two years before retiring as Cashier. She loved fishing, listening to Conway Twitty, and spending time with kids and grandkids.
She is survived by her daughters, Kim Ernce and husband Jeff of Broken Arrow, Diane Palomba and husband Ryan of Sand Springs, her sons, John Allison and wife Beth of Sand Springs, Mike Sherfield of Sand Springs, and Dan Barrington of Sand Springs, thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Larry Barrington, and a brother Dewayne Cumpton.
