Rickie Lee Denton, age 69, of Sand Springs, passed from this life Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at his home.
A celebration of life service will be Monday, 10:00 a.m., August 19, 2019 at Reach Church in Sand Springs. Officiating will be Reverends Michael Wilson and Chad Ketcher. Rickie will be laid to rest at Woodland Memorial Park Cemetery in Sand Springs. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs.
Rickie was born on January 15, 1950 in Coweta, Oklahoma to Gillie and Alta (Collins) Denton. He attended school at Charles Page and married Wanda Dearman on January 9, 1970 in Sand Springs. The couple made their home in the Sand Springs area were Rickie began working for the City of Sand Springs and retired after thirty-five years as a Street Superintendent. He loved his family, especially his grandkids.
He is survived by Wanda Denton of the home, two sons, Travis Denton and wife Rachael of Sand Springs, Doug Denton of Sand Springs, three sisters, Linda Summar and husband Tom of Sand Springs, Vickie Wheeler and husband Butch of Tulsa, Brenda Groover and husband Ron of Choteau, four brothers, Bill Denton and wife Sue of Sand Springs, Larry Denton and wife Sharon of Sand Springs, Ted Denton and wife Debbie of Sand Springs, Scott Denton and wife Mary Jo of Tulsa, seven grandchildren, Justin Denton and wife Morgan, Blake Slankard and wife Shelby, Baylee Wilson and husband Michael, Brynlee Slankard, Brianna Denton, Trevor Denton and Daniel Denton. Also surviving Rickie are two great-grandchildren Beau Slankard and Travis Denton.
Rickie was preceded in death by parents, four brothers, Johnny, Don, Wendell and Kenny Denton.
